ArTours. The Meštrović Atelier, Zagreb

Atelier Meštrović is part of the Ivan Meštrović Museum together with the Meštrović Gallery, the Castelleto Crikvine in Split and the Church of the Redeemer in Otavice. This is only part of the legacy of the greatest Croatian sculptor with a worldwide reputation Ivan Meštrović.

The collection was set up in the family home where Meštrović lived from 1922 to 1042. The building was built in the 17th century and renovated into a studio and family home. The artist donated the house to Croatia along with 300 sculptures in marble, bronze, wood and plaster, with drawings, lithographs and furniture built according to his drawings.

The atelier houses a rich photographic documentation of the artist and his private archive, as well as the works of other authors and his private archive, as well as the works of other authors relating to the work and person of I. Meštrović. The permanent exhibition, in the authentic environment, contains the works created up to the year 1942.
