Marina Pizziolo

Art Consultant. An art critic and historian, specializing in modern and contemporary art studies, in addition to planning and curating great collections.

A curator of exhibitions, in Italy and abroad, she has worked, among other places, in Moscow for the Academy of Sciences; in Lugano for the Gallery of Modern Art and the Sassu Foundation; in Rome for Castel Sant'Angelo; in Milan for Palazzo Reale, the Triennale and the Mazzotta Foundation; in Florence for Palazzo Strozzi and Palazzo Vecchio; as well as for prestigious Italian and European galleries.

Until 2006 she was director of the Bandera Foundation, the Museum of Contemporary Art of Busto Arsizio, near Milan, which under her guidance has implemented a programme of exploration of Italian art in the period between 1930 and the present day. She has also been the director, for over ten years, of the Museo Treccani in Milan and a member of the Scientific Committee of the Corrente Foundation, again in Milan. She founded and runs the Archivi di Corrente, a project for the cataloguing and comparative study of the key figures in the Corrente movement.

The study of private collections. A key aspect of her research is the study of private collections. That is why she is the curator of some of the most important private collections, both Italian and foreign, which are often the subject of exhibitions and monographic publications edited by her. Among these we will mention:

As a consultant for the most important collection devoted to Renato Guttuso, that of Francesco Pellin, in Varese, near Milan, she established the Pellin Foundation, which she directed for four years. She curated the collection of Antonio Stellatelli, which was exhibited in Ferrara, at Palazzo dei Diamanti, in Milan, at the Museo della Permanente, and at other prestigious venues.
However, she has curated and continues to curate many other collections, both in Italy and abroad, with respected and guaranteed reserve. For understandable reasons, very few collectors in fact decide to disclose their collections.

New projects. As part of the international expansion of Art Consulting, she is responsible for relations with new collectors.
Currently, with Romano Ravasio, she directs the Art Fair Preview project: this is a sophisticated series of services designed for collectors and collections, in association with the most important Art Fairs in the world.
